Today, in honor of Ghana’s 55th Independence Day, I encourage you to think about what “independence” means to you. When is Turkmenistan’s Independence Day? How do you celebrate? What effect has independence had on your country, if any? Let us know in the new discussion going on, titled “Independence Days Around the World”!

Hey everyone!  Did you get a chance to read Myahri's story?  i was so moved by her experience!  Check it out over here -

Myahri’s Story: Finding a Father
By Myahri C., Turkmenistan
When Myahri first met her American host family, she had no idea they would grow so close. Read on to learn about all the amazing experiences and travels they shared together.

Were you surprised by pets in your new home, or by how differently things were done in your host country?  Tell me, I'd love to hear about it!  Or submit your own story on our Featured Stories page!

Can you write a poem about Turkmenistan in less than 140 characters? For World Poetry Day, we posted a new discussion challenging you to write a short poem about your country or exchange program. Please participate if you can!
