I was wondering, does anyone know exactly when the sign up date is for next year? Thanks!

@Jennifer, semi-finalists are not able to change their language or duration preferences at this time. The deadline to change program preferences that were indicated on the application was February 15, 2013. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for answering my question, and if I wanted to change my preferences to another country would that affect my application? Or is it possible to change after if I am accepted?

@Jennifer, thanks for your question. We expect to notify students about finalist, alternate, and non-select status as early as mid-March, though most notifications will be in early April.

About what time are finalists notified?

@Chloe, the webinars were optional opportunities to learn more about this stage in the application process and get ready for the next stages. They were not recorded. The information covered in the webinar is generally available on www.nsliforyouth.org, as well. If you have any specific questions we can answer, we contact us at nsliy@americancouncils.org or 1.866.790.2086. Thanks!

If I didn't get to listen to a webinar, will that affect my application? Is there anywhere I can receive the information that was talked about?
Comment by Bart Pogue on February 22, 2013 at 1:04pm

Hi Paris, thanks for your question. NSLI-Y does not publicize application and scholarship numbers disaggregated by language and duration. Last year there were around 3,000 applications for just over 600 scholarships across all programs. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
