Comment by Lena (Team Member) on May 9, 2012 at 10:28am hey everyone - i hope you all have been getting letters with good news these past weeks! if you want to share your excitement, come over to this discussion and post a pic :) and for everyone who didn't get the news you were hoping for, i'm so sorry! are you starting to work on your plan b? i hope you'll apply again!
Anastasia, since the deadline is probably going to be sometime in November (This past year it was Nov. 3, then moved to Nov. 8 b/c of storms and technical issues) you will already have started high school anyway so you will be able to apply in the fall for the summer of 2013. Just check www.nsliyforyouth.org around mid-September for the application to be released. Good luck!
Comment by Anastasia S on May 7, 2012 at 4:40pm So iam in 8th grade right now (middle school) but i am already 15, and i took two highschool classes, am i eligible to apply to the program with summer? or do i have to wait until i am 16 and finished my freshman year?
Comment by Olivia Baker on April 28, 2012 at 11:02pm Mariaa: Korea? Was she a finalist or an alternate that then became a finalist (j/w)? Also, I'm pretty sure Korean year kids stay in host families but it's the Chinese year that stays in dorms?
I was accepted for Korea, too and as far as I know, we'll be staying with host families, not a dorm? Unless I read the information wrong haha, hopefulyl not.
Comment by Mariaa Sussan on April 28, 2012 at 12:30am Congratulations! My best friend got accepted for Korea, too. My only hesitation is the dorm. I was hoping he would stay with a host family the whole time.
Comment by Clifford on April 27, 2012 at 7:41pm Jenny, me! I'm an alternate :( are you?
