Comment by Anara Jamasheva on March 30, 2012 at 2:24am: 31st August is Kyrgyzstan Independence Day, the country got independent after collapsing of the Soviet Union. In the capital of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek celebrations begin on the central Ala-Too Square with the pageant, which is attended by creative teams of the Republic. On the racetrack, go horse-racing game, and in the parks of Bishkek - concerts with performers, amateur groups. The celebration of Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan ends with fireworks.

Tynchtyk suffered a devastating loss while in the United States. Though his family and friends in Kyrgyzstan were thousands of miles away, Tynchtyk’s American community rallied to support him.

I really liked his comment about being in touch with his nomad roots. Are you becoming a nomad and travelling the world? Or are you happy to be in one place, your home, again? I'd love to hear about it! Or submit your own story on our Featured Stories page!
