Comment by Lena (Team Member) on March 6, 2012 at 1:23pm Today, in honor of Ghana’s 55th Independence Day, I encourage you to think about what “independence” means to you. When is Kazakhstan’s Independence Day? How do you celebrate? What effect has independence had on your country, if any? Let us know in the new discussion going on, titled “Independence Days Around the World”!
Comment by Lena (Team Member) on February 24, 2012 at 11:29am Hey all, did you see Ingkarim's story yet? Check it out - Ingkarim's Story: Discovering Community Service
By Ingkarim B., Kazakhstan
While in Texas, Ingkarim discovered volunteering, her "hobby and passion" that has now led her back home to Kazakhstan and on a second journey to the Philippines. Read about her moving experiences!
Have your experiences abroad made you more open to more travel? Have you already participated in a second program? Tell me, I'd love to hear about it! Or submit your own story on our Featured Stories page!
Comment by Andrea (Team Member) on March 23, 2011 at 4:26pm Oh, I am so happy that you liked it!
Thank you =)
Well, it was a big experience for me in America. I learned a lot, and finally, opened my own mind.
Especially, my American family influenced on me a lot. There is no such words to say or express what they have done for me and what they mean for me. My host dad says me: "We don't need anything from you. We are changing your life, and all we ask is when you grow up to change somebody's else live. And then that person will change other lives and so on. That's how the world gets better".
We are so different, but so close!
I feel that I can make a difference too. I know that everything is in our hands. That's why I was thinking at least at this point I can already start making a difference!
In Kazakhstan, students are interested too. And after I come back, I intend to make presentations about my experience here, and show those videos to them. =)

I really liked your videos. What inspired you to make them and what have your family/friends in Kazakhstan said about them?
