Last July, I was participated in International Visitor Leadership Program in United States for about three weeks. This program is dedicated to professionals to learn, share and create mutual understanding between American and the visitors from all over the world. My program's topic itself was New Media Journalism and I learned a lot from this program, including American culture. I would suggest Indonesian citizens to find out more their interest and achieve something so they will be able to participate in this program.
hey,Anandita. I really appreciated your information. How to join those programs by the way?

Hi Kurnia,

Participants for this program are selected by US Embassy in each countries. As far as I know, they list, select and invite the candidates by themselves. I suggest you to achieve something and be known in a field/topic that you love so that US Embassy will invite you. Good luck! :)

Hi Agung, sorry if I cut Anindita off!  I just thought I would send you the link to the IVLP page on the State Department website so you could look into coming to the USA.  Since you have to be nominated through your home country's US embassy, I'm sending you a link to the embassy in Indonesia.  Keep us posted on the process, and definitely share your story if it works out!

This is for all of tenth graders, go apply this right now Guys.. :)))

Hey all, just another resource --

Check out EducationUSA's website to find out more information about how to do a study abroad program in the USA.  For Indonesia the website is http://www.educationusa.info/Indonesia.  You can also search for a program on the U.S. Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs website.  Check it out and let me know what worked!
