Caleb, you write fluently and without tell tale signs that you are not a native writer. A wonderful accomplishment. I have some comments, but I would give these same comments to a native born writer.
The paragraph will have more appeal if you name the city.
London is a bustling place.
As a general rule, you do not want to use the same word twice in a sentence. You wrote:
There are many cars, but the preferred method of transportation is either walking or using public transportation
for "public transportation" substitute "trams and the underground"
When you speak about tradition and modern:
"having been combined" in this case implies it is full of tradition because it has been combined with the modern
Better: "The center of the city is full of tradition that has been combined with modern....."
Even better: "The center of the city is full of tradition that has been integrated into modern....."
Can you pull that all together into a new paragraph?
Comment by Caleb Andrews on April 30, 2012 at 9:14pm Robert, that is a fantastic idea! In fact, I myself shall do this.
My home city is a bustling place! There are many cars, but the preferred method of transportation is either walking or using public transportation. The weather can be rather rainy at times, but it is also warm. The centre of my city is full of tradition having been combined with modern architecture and style. All people who come to my city are energised as they are here and always desire to return after they have left.
I keep seeing introductions with the hope of improving English, but nothing else! If you want to improve English, then complete this assignment. We can all comment on word use, punctuation, spelling, and all the aspects of English.
Write a 5 sentence paragraph describing your home town.

Comment by Ali on February 15, 2012 at 2:59pm Yes, Happy (late) Valentine's Day! Since this is the Learning English group, perhaps we should brainstorm some English colloquialisms to tell someone they are fabulous in English. I'll start:
You're the:
-Bee's knees
-The cat's meow
-The best thing since sliced bread
Can anyone think of anything else?
Comment by Adam K. Manalo-Camp on February 15, 2012 at 4:41am Hey everyone! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy valentines Day.
Comment by Gabriel S. Billones Jr. on February 6, 2012 at 9:10am Happy Love month guys. I hope that for this month, more and more cultural understanding will shape political atmospheres. And with that, we'll learn to appreciate peace and love of living with one another, in our own gorgeous ways!
