Comment by Renee Day yesterday Hello!
I just wanted to share this link for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations' Do One Thing campaign to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity and Dialogue for Development.
http://www.unaoc.org/actions/campaigns/do-one-thing-for-diversity-a...
My students are creating a video and will conduct a school-wide event on May 21 to celebrate diversity and inclusion of all groups. As a history/social science teacher, this is a great way to teach students about other cultures and evaluate events in world history. It would be great if you would like to share one thing that you do to celebrate diversity and practice inclusion!
Best regards,
Renee

Comment by Joan Bouchard deCallejas Juanita on May 13, 2013 at 9:51am Hi Nurunnabi - What a great photo! I hope that mother is still with us, and that devoted son is still taking such good care of her!
I had a lovely telephone chat with my 95-year-old mother in the U.S. last night - she received a nice cake from my brother, and flowers from me and my sisters, and various phone calls and a visit from a friend - Mother's Day can even be celebrated well across the miles!
Thanks for that piece on the origin of Mother's Day, there was a LOT there that I did not know - imagine, being taught your own history by someone from halfway around the world! But that is EC, and life in the 21st century!! - "Auntie" Juanita
