Thanks Ali...Surely I will join certain clubs in the colleges. I can't wait for experiencing new environment, friends and activities in U.S.

Congratulations on being selected as a nominee, Feri! One of my favorite things about the U.S. is the amount of civic engagement, especially among students. Colleges have clubs that you can join to meet people with similar interests; I recommend that you take advantage of those. I also suggest visiting the government website of whatever city you will be studying in, especially since you are interested in Travel and Tourism. Those sites usually post fun events that are free and open to the public. For example, I am from Louisville, Kentucky and these are two of the sites I visit:

I look forward to hearing about your CCI experience on ExchangesConnect!

Hi everyone...glad to join this group. My name Feri from Indonesia..I'm one of the CCIP 2012 nominees..and hopefully I'll receive the final selection email by this April. I took Hospitality management program majoring in Travel and Tourism. Still don't have enough information about when and where I'll be going to US but surely it will be a great experience. If u guys have some information or tips for me before my departure to US, I'd be glad to hear it.

Cheers,

Feri

Hey Kagiso!!!  That's wonderful news - congratulations!  I think you will have an amazing time.  Please let us know where you will be headed to and we can all definitely give you some great tips and advice before coming to the U.S.

Where do you attend college?  I was just there this past July for a study abroad trip.  We even visited the University of Pretoria and met with a few students and professors.  I really loved South Africa and would love to go back.
